Signs Of A Cheating Spouse

by Rose Corteau

What are the Signs of a cheating spouse? What are the signs of cheating in a relationship?

Is something in your marriage causing you to feel uneasy? Do you feel like your husband or wife is hiding something from you? Are you wondering is my husband cheating on me or is my wife cheating on me?

Before we begin to discuss the signs of a cheating spouse, you need to trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. It is equally important to rule out what may be causing the discomfort in your marriage – could it just be stress?

Provided nothing significant in your environment has changed (new job, relocation, children, money, etc), except your husband or wife’s behavior. It may be worth having a closer look to see if your husband or wife may be involved in an extra marital affair.

7 Most Common Signs Of A Cheating Spouse:

• Sudden change in work schedule – Your spouse starts work earlier or works later than usual. New demands enter his or her schedule such as dinners, meetings and/or business trips.

• Unusual interest in appearance – You may notice your spouse grooming themselves more than usual. There may be a change in clothing or hair style. They may change their perfume or aftershave. They may take on a sudden interest in losing weight or may have a significant weight loss.

• Lack of communication – Conversations may become tense between you and your spouse. You may notice your spouse becoming more edgy, uptight or nervous. He or she may seem more closed and distant.

• New hobbies or interest – Your husband or wife may take up a new hobby or interest that is not typical and is generally out of character for them.

• Privacy when using the cell phone or computer – Your spouse may leave the room to answer a call on his or her cell phone. Your spouse may suddenly change or close down a window on the computer when you enter the room.

• Mood Swings – Your spouse may become highly irritable or uncharacteristically argumentative and critical for no apparent reason.

• Ambiguous about schedule – Your spouse may be vague or evasive when asked about his or her activities or whereabouts during the day and especially when asked why he or she is late.

If you notice any one of the above changes in your spouse’s behavior; don’t panic, it may not necessarily mean that your spouse is being unfaithful. If, however, 3 or more of these behaviors occur simultaneously, there is a high probability that your husband or wife is involved in an affair.

If you suspect this to be the case, you need to share your concern with your husband or wife. Be sure that you are calm before you have this dialog. Hopefully this will allow the two of you to begin to talk more openly. It can begin a much needed dialog and can open up an avenue for discussing what is missing in the relationship.

Strong, healthy and satisfying relationships are never at risk for infidelity.
